Kenneth Wedell Endowed Scholarship for Apprentices

Kenneth Wedell grew up in the Great Depression and eventually found his calling in foundry, carpentry, cabinet-making, pattern marking, cast metals, and tool and die.  Kenneth was working in a tool and die shop in San Jose, CA in Fall 1941 and after Dec. 7 enlisted in the Navy.  After the war, he returned to school on the GI Bill and began a lifelong career in vocational education.

While Kenneth was teaching full-time, he still pursued additional education working on his Master's degree.  He set an excellent example of what can be done through hard work.  People may not remember who won last year's Academy Award or Super Bowl but they remember positive, influential leaders, mentors, and teachers who made a difference.
